Adeo Physical Therapy Sessions

February 7, 2022

If you are new to the world of physical therapy, you may feel a little overwhelmed with the thought of beginning your health journey. While it’s normal to feel anxious about starting your treatment, your body will thank you for taking the first step on the road back to health. In addition, patients often worry about what their treatment will look like, how long it will take them to regain strength, or how long it will be before they can return to their normal activities. Although it may feel like all you have are questions before starting your treatment, we assure you that you are not alone, and this is just the beginning to becoming pain-free. To make the most of your Adeo Physical Therapy sessions, we have compiled a few tips to help you make the most of your healing experience. Keep reading to find out how.

Tips to Make the Most of Your Adeo Physical Therapy Sessions

Fully Commit to All of Your Appointments

Much like you may feel with an exercise routine, it can be easy to convince yourself that it’s ok to take your physical therapy sessions less seriously. It’s so important for you to be present, not only physically but mentally, at each of your visits. Physical therapy is a partnership between the therapist and the patient, so it’s imperative that you do your part to help your recovery. Having a positive mindset is part of that and will help to keep you motivated and on track. Once you reach your therapy goals, you can give yourself a big pat on the back for what you have accomplished through hard work and determination.

Complete Any “Homework” That Is Assigned

Physical therapy is a collaborative process that works if you do the assigned excises at home. During your in-office sessions, your physical therapist will show you the homework you need to perform between visits. To get the most out of your recovery, you not only need to attend your in-office sessions with your therapist, but you also need to work your muscles at home. Recovering from an injury isn’t always easy. However, if you follow the recommended exercises, each day of homework will lead to the ultimate goals of recovery that you have set for yourself.

Ask Questions

Your physical therapist is dedicated to helping you improve your quality of life and getting you back to doing the things you enjoy. If you have questions, don’t be afraid to ask. Your therapist is happy to answer all your questions. Remember, this is a collaborative process in your healing.

While these are not by any means an exhaustive list of all the things that you can do to make your Adeo Physical Therapy sessions the best they can be, it’s a good place to start. Don’t just take our word for it. Check out this 5-star review from our happy customer, LeeAnne Unrein. (Note: you don’t have to be referred by a surgeon to make an appointment for physical therapy here at Adeo.)

“I recently had knee replacement surgery and was referred by my surgeon to Moni Kohlhoff for Physical Therapy. She personally worked with me, evaluated my progress, chose exercises to help meet my goals, and pushed me to succeed. She really cares and wants the best results for her patients. She is the best!”
