Introducing Choose to Lose: A Brand-New Weight Loss & Wellness Program

May 3, 2021

The team at Adeo Physical Therapy is very excited to announce our newest therapeutic program: Choose to Lose Aquatic Therapy Weight Loss & Wellness.

Choose to Lose is the ONLY water-based, weight loss exercise program in Northern Colorado and it takes place in the region’s largest indoor warm water pool—The Hope Warm Water Pool—which is kept at a comfortable 93°F year-round.

Why Aquatic Therapy?

Aquatic exercise is low impact, but highly effective. It provides a whole-body workout while also burning fat and calories. Studies show that individuals typically burn 2 more calories per minute in the water than on land.

Water’s buoyancy assists in supporting the body’s weight, which decreases stress on the joints. This allows for greater flexibility, while the water’s viscosity provides resistance, which strengthens muscles without the need for weights.
Being in the water also helps the body stay cooler than it can during land-based exercises, reducing the chance of overheating and allowing individuals to work out even longer. This is true in the warm water environment as well, because some parts of your body are out of the water and lose heat to evaporation. And because aquatic therapy helps to decrease pain in most participants, it makes exercising easier and life out of the water more comfortable.
